The feeder is sized to receive material directly from a hopper or below a screen in a crushing-and-screening plant, so stable operation under the static load of coarse lump material matters more than metering precision here — the maximum lump size on the largest models in the range reaches 400 mm.
The feeder's own mass runs from 1150 to 2600 kg depending on the size, and the drive is an electromagnetic VEM-T1-T4 — the same operating principle as the light line, but rated for a multiple-times-larger tray-plus-material mass. The drive sits below the tray, which is the base, most common layout for heavy feeders and requires no extra space above the tray.
This design is used at mining and processing plants, metallurgical works, and building-materials production — anywhere ore, agglomerate, crushed stone, or other coarse lump material needs to be drawn from under a hopper as an even, adjustable-capacity flow. Because of the large tray-plus-material mass, PEVF vibration isolators are sized individually for the specific model and the batch weight being processed — it's a separate item in the technical specification for the supporting structure, agreed alongside the order. The electrical side is the same 380 V, 50 Hz supply through a control unit as on the light line.
If the space below the tray is limited — for example when mounting the feeder above a conveyor or in a tight workshop layout — consider a PEVVF design with a top-mounted drive instead.

An electromagnetic drive has no rotating parts that would jam under a static load, so the feeder can start right under a full hopper — unlike equipment with a rotating unbalance mass, which usually needs an unloaded tray to start. For overload protection in this duty, automatic control with a vibration sensor on the tray is used through a control cabinet or unit: if amplitude drifts from the setpoint (for example, from a blockage at the inlet), the drive shuts off, protecting both the tray and the coil. That's why "full-hopper" duty is standard, not emergency, operation for the ПЭВФ line at mining and processing plants and crushing-and-screening complexes.

As with the light line, start from the required capacity: 60-90 m³/h is covered by VEM-T1-T2 models, while 150 m³/h and above calls for VEM-T3-T4 models with a tray width of 1200 mm or more. For heavy feeders, also check the maximum lump size (up to 400 mm on the largest models) — it must be at least the actual lump size coming off the hopper or screen, or the feeder can jam or feed unevenly.
